Cohesion Dance Project envisions a community with an expanded perception of dance as an art form that fully embraces people of all ages, abilities, experiences, and backgrounds.

Who we are
Cohesion Dance Project (CDP) is a non-profit dance production company whose mission is to create engaging performances and integrated educational experiences that enrich, inspire, and unite the community through dance.
Our Approach
What we do
Throughout the year, CDP stages three community based dance performances and offers cost effective learning opportunities through integrated technique classes, community summer workshops, and adaptive dance classes for people with disabilities and special needs. Dancers and non-dancers of all ages and abilities explore movement within their own unique body structure, exercise their creative spirit through movement composition and choreography, and reach outside their comfort zones by working with others in an environment of partnership, mentorship, and collaboration.
Our Story
What we value
Growth
Cohesion Dance Project is deeply committed to the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of every dancer who participates in its programs.
Collaboration
CDP is dedicated to creating an open and welcoming environment of mentorship, trust, cooperation and teamwork with dancers and artists who may not otherwise have the opportunity to work together in the creation and production of unique dance experiences.
Joy
Cohesion Dance Project creates a fun and lively, yet structured, environment resulting in performances and learning opportunities that entertain, educate, and delight participants and audiences of all ages.
Professionalism
Cohesion Dance Project upholds standards of behavior that contribute to a creative process that is trusting, fair, and structured.
What Makes Cohesion Unique...
Integrated Dance
Modern/Contemporary based technique classes and performances including our flagship production, Shira Greenberg's Nutcracker on the Rocks, welcoming dancers of all ages and abilities, including those with disabilities.
Scholarship Exchange
We believe that ability to pay should not be an obstacle to participating in our classes and programs. We offer unlimited volunteer scholarship opportunities to individuals and families in need.
Adaptive Dance
Trained staff and volunteers facilitate dance and creative movement specifically designed for people with special needs and varying physical and developmental ability.
Cross-Community Collaboration
We provide creative and performing groups across town accessible, affordable rehearsal/performing space and coordinate collaborative performance opportunities.
