About Cohesion Dance Project:
 

Cohesion Dance Project (Cohesion) is a non-profit dance production company with a mission to create engaging performances and integrated educational experiences that enrich, inspire, and unite the community through dance. Founded in 2012, provides contemporary dance training for community dancers, professional artists and people living with disabilities; stages multiple integrated professional performances each year; and conducts school and community outreach through movement arts education and adaptive dance classes for preschool age through older adults with and without disabilities.

Position Summary:

We are looking for someone who is upbeat, courteous and professional to join our flexible, fun, and creative team supporting the financial aspects of a dance education non-profit organization.  The ideal candidate is committed to helping the organization run as smoothly and efficiently as possible with proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, payroll processing, and a full understanding of the General Ledger with the ability to make Journal Entries and adjustments. Additional bookkeeping tasks will include rental and outreach invoicing, financial statement preparation and reconciliation, deposit tracking, box office oversight and reconciliation, use of payment software subsystems, and more.

Must be: a proactive, collaborative team-member who is organized with a keen eye for detail; a self-sufficient, multi-tasker who is prepared to work in a fast-paced, yet relaxed and welcoming environment; flexible and willing to adapt to changing needs, identifying and assuming any financial support duties and responsibilities as needed to strengthen the organization. This position is critical for the healthy functioning of the organization and requires excellent communication skills (spoken & written) with vendors, renters, outreach partners, audience members, and other staff.

Essential Functions:

​

Financial Operations

  • Manage payroll processing and reporting, rental invoicing, accounts receivable and disbursements.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.

  • Process payments as they come in, prepare and make bank deposits.

  • Manage front of house activities including but not limited to organizing and tracking tickets sales and merchandise and final sales reconciliation.

  • Bank statement reconciliations including receipt collections.

  • Evolve and maintain Cohesion accounting and financial management policies, processes, procedures and internal controls necessary to assure adherence to an annual budget, successful independent audits when conducted, and compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, regulations and best practices, which may include working with a contractor(s) with appropriate accounting, audit and financial management expertise.

 

Facility and Programming Support

  • Manage invoicing for Cohesion Center facility rentals and outreach class payments and communicate with respective customers.

  • Manage Box Office sales and conduct final reconciliation and invoicing for performances at Cohesion Center.

 

Other duties

Perform any duties that may arise as Cohesion operations, infrastructure, programs and services evolve, and as assigned by the Artistic and Managing Directors.

  • Work collegially and as an “ambassador of the organization” with all staff, families, students, renters, contractors, donors, board members, volunteers and members of the public with a consistent, positive, and friendly attitude.

  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.

  • Training, professional development and mentorship will be provided, as needed, as related to specific Cohesion software and programs.

Requirements/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate preferably has at least three years of relevant work experience in an administrative support position.

  • Must embrace the mission, vision, and values of CDP.

  • Outstanding organizational skills.

  • Works efficiently with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.

  • An overall commitment to excellence in quality of work and outcomes.

  • Track record of adaptability, personal accountability and initiative.

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, payroll processing, General Ledger and Journal Entries

Other Job Information:

  • Position is part-time – estimated at up to 12 hours/week; mostly flexible hours

  • Salary dependent on experience

  • Position is located in Helena, Montana
